I'm baaaaaack!

I know, I know. I'm a terrible blogger. Mike Garvey, I am not. Although I certainly am appreciative that he's so on top of his blog. I need something to do at work. So thank you Mike and all the rest of the participants of BufBloPoFo 08. I thought about participating but I was so worried about having to come up with something witty every day that I just couldn't commit. But I am 100% committed to reading all of their blogs!

So back to my lack of blogging. In my defense, I've been busy. Very busy with many things, most important of which is spending every spare minute with the cutest little guy EVER! Here's an update on Joey. He's the best. He's the cutest. I love him so. He's drooling like a sonufagun but no teeth yet. We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first Uncle Toufik, named of course after Lee's uncle and godfather Toufik (pronounced Too-Fee). I got edumacated on making Joey's baby food from scratch and that's what I'm going to do tomorrow. We're starting with butternut squash, acorn squash (not sure what the diff is) and yams. Go me!

So the last month has been a whirlwind. Beginning February 7th: we moved to Rochester, I got Mastitis (ouch!), I started back at work (sniff), and lastly and definitely the worst, my mom was hospitalized with what we thought were cardiac related chest pains and was told two days later that she has widespread cancer. It sucks. Bad.

My mom is having surgery next Wednesday to begin to remove the cancer. She's having her uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes removed and a bowel resection. She'll be there for a while afterwards and then they'll decide when she'll start chemo.

Good news: she's starting her battle and has every reason to fight.

Bad news: she and my dad won't be able to have any more kids. Shucks.

Also? I got DVR. Oh. My. Gosh. IloveDVRsomuchIwillnevermissanotherepisodeofmyfavoriteshows. DVR has provided me with hours and hours of watching my favorite show.

So that's the last month for me in a nutshell. Now that I'm back to work and pretty bored most days, I'll try and start blogging again! Please enjoy the obligatory adorable shots of my baby.
